Nike Donates $5 Million For Athletic Facility At Obama Presidential Center

Nike has announced it's partnership with the Obama Foundation to help build an athletic facility on the Obama Presidential Center campus.

If you didn't already know, the Obama Presidential Center is located in Chicago and will now include a public athletic facility thanks to a $5 million donation from Nike! Aside from the athletic facility, there will be a museum, conference room for public meetings/programs, and a library thanks to the Chicago Public Library. The Chief Social & Community Impact Officer of Nike, Jorge Casimiro, discussed why bringing an impact to Chicago matters to Nike. He says,

“Our belief in the power of sport to transform lives is why we work with organizations like the Obama Foundation — because whether it’s on a global scale or at the grassroots level, we’ve seen what’s possible when sport brings us together,” Casimiro said in a statement. “I’m reminded every day of the potential that partnership unlocks — how teaming up with grassroots groups and global organizations can unleash the power of sport to change lives and change communities.”

Big ups to Nike for being the promising, foreseeing company they are.
