Roc Nation’s very own lyrically acclaimed artist Rapsody stopped by the Power 105.1 station to have a true ‘girl power’ sit down with DJ and on air talent, Nyla Symone. The rapper talked about her latest project Eve and spilled the tea on the legendary Queen Latifah, who was featured on the fourteenth track titled ‘Hatshepsut.’ As a fan of the Queen Latifa herself, Rapsody talks about new found friendship and what it meant for her to work on the album together.
If it isn’t already obvious, Rapsody’s Eve serves as an unapologetic “love letter to black women '' — explaining why they deserve to be portrayed in a positive light. During the interview, she praises North Carolina native J. Cole and upcoming artist Leikeli47 for helping to make the project come alive.
Rapsody also touches on what she has learned since signing to Roc Nation and describes how inspirational Jay-Z has been though supporting black culture. She expresses there’s much power within “us”, and says “when you invest in your own, you invest in yourself.”
