Five guns were found on students at different New York City schools in a 24-hour period, reports ABC News.
Students have been caught having guns, some of them loaded in the past two days. They were found by unarmed NYPD school safety officers. On Wednesday they recovered three guns from students at schools in the Bronx and Brooklyn and then on Thursday morning they found two more guns in the Bronx and Queens.
The union representing the safety officers says these things are happening in schools without metal detectors and it is not just guns they are finding. They have also found butcher knives.
