#HispanicHeritageMonth Rapper Spotlight: Pop Smoke

For Hispanic Heritage Month we're spotlighting some of the most influential Hispanic rappers & artists in the game!

Canarsie Brooklyn's own Pop Smoke (born Bashar Barakah Jackson) is of Panamanian and Jamaican decent. Beginning his music career in 2018 he took the world and the city by storm in 2019 with his breakout single "Welcome To the Party". From then on Pops career took off following his debut single with "Dior" & his first tape "Meet The Woo".

In 2020 he continued his success with "Meet The Woo 2" which debuted at Number 7 on the Billboard 200 and featured huge records such as "Shake The Room" featuring Quavo. Sadly on February 19th Pop was killed in a home invasion out in California.

Since his death his debut posthumous album which dropped in July debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and EVERY SINGLE SONG from the album charted on the Billboard Hot 100. A deluxe version of the album was released shortly after and continues to be one of the top selling albums week to week since it's release back in July.
