New York Knicks Forward Carmelo Anthony was named to the Eastern Conference NBA All-Star team. He'll be replacing Cleveland Cavalier Forward Kevin Love, who is out due to surgery. Originally, Melo's NBA All-Star streak was broken, after not being chosen as a reserve by NBA coaches and general managers.
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an honor to be named to the All-Star team, to go out there and represent despite everything that’s been going on, that’s surrounding us, that’s surrounding me, that’s surrounding our organization.
“To still go out there and represent not just the organization, but New York City as a whole, it’s still an honor to do that. Yeah, I was looking forward to my break. It’s life.”
This is Carmelo's 10th All-Star appearance, and his eighth straight. This is one of the few bright spots of the season, and with two Knicks players in the USA vs. the World game, fans have a rare reason to celebrate.
