Arkansas Passes Law Allowing Guns At Football And Basketball Games

Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson has just signed off on a new law that will allow people to bring concealed weapons into sporting events.

According to Andrew Demillo of the Associated Press, the law will go into effect on September 1st although it's likely guns won't be allowed at sporting events until early 2018.

"This bill, in my view, reflects the will of the General Assembly and is constitutional and will balance public safety and the Second Amendment," Hutchinson said at a news conference after signing the measure.

The law states that people who undergo up to eight hours of active-shooter training will be allowed to carry a concealed weapon in state colleges, some bars, government buildings and even the state Capitol.
