Atlanta royalty stepped into the building as T.I. joined DJ Clue on Power 105.1 alongside Young Dro and his son King Harris for a funny and reflective conversation about legacy, family, music, comedy, and his upcoming album Kill The King.
Early in the interview, Clue brought up the long-discussed “Atlanta vs. New York” energy in hip-hop. T.I. admitted he experienced similar tensions while spending time in New York studios earlier in his career, explaining that regional bias often comes from lack of exposure to different cultures and cities.
The conversation later shifted toward Kill The King, which T.I. described as a metaphor for “killing the ego” attached to his longtime “King of the South” title. He revealed the project may potentially be his final album as he focuses more on family, business, acting, and comedy.
T.I. also confirmed the project includes major collaborators like Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Anderson .Paak, Usher, T-Pain, Young Dro, and more. He even shared a wild story about Pharrell recording music inside a fully built studio on a boat in Miami.
Outside of music, T.I. spoke about his growing love for stand-up comedy, revealing he got hooked after randomly performing at an open mic night in 2022. Meanwhile, King Harris discussed discovering his own passion for music after freestyling in the studio with friends and family.
The interview also included plenty of laughs, especially when T.I. joked about only touring in cities with luxury hotels and discussed balancing music with his growing business empire, acting career, and upcoming film projects.
