Executives from The Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Harry Williams and George Spencer stopped by The Breakfast Club to give more information on the non-profit organization.
The fund is making a major change in so many college students' lives. Over 70% of students in the Thurgood Marshall program are first generation college students and come from communities where schools are classified as low income. Therefore, donations are much needed and appreciated. On average, the 32 year old fund gives out roughly 600 scholarships annually and the money goes straight to students which will then go towards their school expenses. Any size donation helps create another scholarship to give away. To qualify for scholarship, students must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
