Wedding bells will be ringing very soon for Marques Houston, whom we’ve come to know from his role as the dorky boy-next-door Roger on Sister, Sister and his stint in the 90s’ R&B boy band Immature/ImX.
On Monday (Mar. 4th), the 37-year-old singer-actor announced his engagement to his beau Miya. He broke the news with a picture of him holding hands with Miya — wearing a diamond ring —by the beach at sunset. He captioned the post: She said “YES” to his 1 million followers. Several photos of the coupons holding each other appeared later.
“I said yes to a new beginning. I said yes to my spiritual head. I said yes to loving you forever and forever baby,” she wrote in one pic. “I am blessed to have you and to be yours forever. These past months have been the best months of my life. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend them with anyone else or any other way. I love you so much, and I promise to always be the best for Jehova and for you. You desire the best, and it’s my goal to give you that. I can’t wait to marry you.”
Marques and Miya started dating in October 2018. These days, Houston serves as the head of Footage Films, a California-based production company, and has written and produced several films.
After his role came to an end on Sister, Sister he went on to become to solo performer earning modest hits like "Clubbin" and "Naked". His most recent album Famous came out in 2013.
