The icon and living legend Janet Jackson is said to receive the rock star award during the Black Girls Rock 2018 event this weekend.
After releasing her newest single "Made For Now" with Daddy Yankee, Jackson will be honored with the title of a "phenomenal woman in music" directors have said.
Other award winners include Mary J. Blige, Judith Jamison, and Naomi Campbell.
Mary J. will be presented with the star power award, Judith will be presented with the living legend award for her work in dance, and Naomi will be presented with the black girl magic award.
Another black girl that rocks, Queen Latifah, is set to host the show at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ. The event is scheduled to air September 9th on BET to celebrate the hard work and achievements of black women all over.
