Marijuana Breathalyzers are Coming

According to USA Today, pot detectors are in the works to detect drivers under the influence. A company called Hound Labs are currently working on releasing them to be released in the fall. As of today, all cops have is a field sobriety test to catch high drivers. Sadly, that is all about to change soon.

We know what you're thinking... Isn't the recreational use of pot legal in most states? Yes, it is. But, it is also legal to drink liquor. It is all about the point where you believe you can operate a vehicle. That's when it becomes illegal. You can get hit with a hefty DUI ticket for alcohol and/or weed.

"The Hound breathalyzer is 1 billion times more sensitive than today’s alcohol breathalyzers." the company says on it site (houndlabs.com)

When someone blows into the breathalyzer, it can detect alcohol, THC or both in a matter of minutes. For those who don’t know THC is most present. Therefore, make it a habit now of not driving under the influence.
