MTV's hit TV show "Catfish" is filming season 7 right now. As if the show wasn't going through enough when co-host Nev Schulman was under investigation, now co-host Max Joseph has announced his departure from the show! The show has been running with both Max and Nev hosting it for 7 years.
"For a while now I have been straddling two careers as TV host and filmmaker and, while this level of busy-ness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it." - Max Joseph
We've known Max has been balancing both the show and filmmaking for a while now, especially when he left a few episodes temporarily to film his movie, We Are Your Friends (2015). "With 'Catfish' still going strong after 7 seasons, 115 episodes, 31 specials and showing no sign of slowing down, I feel it is finally the time for me to make my exit," Max says.
"Working with Max on “Catfish” has been a blast. What started as a casual friendship quickly turned into a brotherhood. Over the last six years I've learned as much about the internet and society as I have about myself."- Nev Schulman
Both Nev and Max took to instagram posting a series of photos together, with captions speaking on their friendship and the years they worked together. "Max isn't just a co-host, he's a partner, therapist and brother. His ability to listen, empathize and advise is astounding and has made me a better man," Schulman writes in his caption.
Now the questions are raising, will there be another co-host with Nev? Who would it be?
Max's last episode will air August 22nd.
