Last night (March 4th), alongside Natalia LaFourcade and Gael García Bernal, Miguel performed an amazing rendition of "Remember Me" from the animated film Coco. The stage was filled with bright neon lights and dancers in traditional Mexican clothing.
“Remember Me” took home the Oscar for Best Original Song, beating out Mary J. Blige’s “Mighty River” (Mudbound), Sufjan Stevens’ “Mystery of Love” (Call Me By Your Name), “This Is Me” (The Greatest Showman), and Common and Diane Warren’s “Stand Up for Something” (Marshall).
Coco is an animated film from Disney and Pixar. The film tells the story of a 12-year old Mexican boy who must call on the help of his deceased great-great grandfather (and his music) to rescue him from the land of the dead. Coco also took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film.
