XXXTENTACION was arrested and charged with the aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness-tampering. According to Pitchfork, the trial has been delayed from its October 5th date.
A spokesperson for Miami-Dade state attorney’s office revealed that both sides of the case wanted to postpone the trial so they could make time to orchestrate the questioning of the defense’s witnesses.
He also says that X’s lawyer (who also acts as the attorney of X’s manager) hasn’t made X’s witnesses available for deposition yet, and that he’s indicated he won’t be available until “late October or early November.”
Otherwise, if found not guilty and cleared of these charges, XXXTENTACION's career is looking pretty bright. The South Florida rapper was one of XXL's 2017 Freshman Class, just released a critically-favored rock-inspired project, 17, spawning Billboard Top 40 track "Jocelyn Flores" and received his first platinum single, "Look at Me!" last week.
