Instagram's New Algorithm Censors Kanye Lyrics

According to Wired, Instagram's new offensive language censor, DeepText, is working well when it comes to censoring hate speech. However, it seems like many of Kanye West's lyrics don't make the cut. It seems that [‘Wolves’ lyric] ‘You left your fridge open/ somebody just took a sandwich' could be interpreted as fat shaming.

“Every line in this sequence got banned when it was put through: [‘Famous’ lyric] ‘For my southside niggas that know me best/ I feel like me and Taylor still might have sex/ Why, I made that bitch famous,'” says Wired writer Nicholas Thompson.

The DeepText program was partly inspired by the Kardashian-West/Swift feud which resulted in a Kim and Kanye fans leaving thousands of snake emoji-flooded comments under Taylor Swift's Instagram pictures.
