In an interview with XXL, Azealia Banks dishes on a future collaboration with Safaree Samuels who's infamously known for dating Nicki Minaj for over 14 years and serving as an executive producer on first two albums.
"I have a song that I did with Safaree Samuels. Actually, it kind of came out of nowhere. I guess people are like, “Oh, that’s rivalry,” because it’s Safaree, but honestly it’s just industry shit. I assumed that he played a part in [some of] Nicki Minaj’s hot singles, so I was like, “Shit, we should definitely go to the studio together.”
As great as she thinks the song is, it seems the Harlem rapper was surprised was underwhelmed by his songwriting skills.
"...It actually turned out [to be] me writing for him. So Safaree and I put this song together and I wrote a bunch of his part and it’s really fuckin’ hot."
The night the article was published, Nicki Minaj liked a tweet that featured a screengrab from the article.
Although Nicki has yet to officially comment on the Azealia, Safaree, or the interview, her Twitter likes tell a clear narrative and even possibly generated response from Safaree.
