When you think of the Trump administration, you may automatically cringe.
This is how the students of Bethune-Cookman University, a historically black college in Daytona Beach, FL felt when members of the Trump administration graced the stage with their presence.
Omarosa Manigault, who assists the POTUS and Betsy DeVos who was appointed as the Secretary of Education attended the ceremony where they were greeted with continuous booing. Some students were even seen turning their backs during the speech.
It is said that students protested when they found out the controversial DeVos would be in attendance for the ceremony. The ultimate dislike of DeVos began earlier this year when she called HBCU's “real pioneers of school choice,” a remark that disregarded the actual context in which historically black colleges were founded upon.
The commencement service was disrupted to the point where the President of the school Edison Jackson issued a verbal warning to the students.
"If this behavior continues, your degrees will be mailed to you," he said. "Choose which way you want to go."
