EarthGang returns with its anticipated album that marks the end of the duo's most creative era yet.
On Tuesday, October 29, Olu and WowGr8 delivered their new LP Perfect Fantasy in partnership with UnitedMasters. The project is the final installment of the Spillage Village artists' “EarthGang vs The Algorithm” era following previous projects RIP Human Art and ROBOPHOBIA. Olu and WowGr8's fuse songs from their previous EPs, like "Bobby Boucher" and the title track with Snoop Dogg, together with fresh hits like "LOVE YOU MORE" featuring T-Pain and "U GOTTA" with Pharrell Williams.
“Perfect Fantasy is an album honoring the free spirit of creativity," Olu said about the project.
"We got inspiration from our favorite singers, anime, musicians, and producers to provide a gallery of sounds for the special moments in life,” he continued. “We decided to say f**k the algorithm, break traditional rules, and create the music that inspired us to do what we love.”
“Perfect Fantasy is the ultimate summation of our 'EarthGang vs. the Algorithm' campaign," WowGr8 said. "If you think of our journey like a video game and the algorithm is the Boss, then this album would be our Boss Battle. Through soundscape, packaging, delivery and nuance we take a meta approach to the method of shattering the norms that harm the craft we love so dearly.”
In celebration of the album's release, EarthGang dropped the official music video for "U GOTTA" with Skateboard P. The duo, who has become well-known for their innovative visuals, took a spontaneous trip to Tokyo where they hit the streets and partied with some locals. You can peep the video below.
