SheaMoisture, with the support of iHeartMedia, is helping to support the next generation of Black millionaires!

As part of the 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture this past weekend, iHeartMedia and SheaMoisture announced a surprise gift of $25,000 to the New Voices Foundation — a foundation committed to closing women of color entrepreneurs' disparity in revenue and funding by increasing their access to capital and providing vital funding, learning, and networking opportunities that allow their businesses to grow, scale and thrive for generations to come.

“Celebrating Black culture and the next generation of Black entrepreneurs is an important part of iHeartMedia’s mission, and we are grateful to SheaMoisture for inviting us to contribute to the impact they’re making through the New Voices Foundation,” Nicky Sparrow, Senior Vice President, Multicultural Sales, iHeartMedia said in a press release. “We’re inspired by the Foundation’s work in the community and can’t wait to see how this funding supports the next Black millionaire.”

iHeartMedia and SheaMoisture celebrated their donation with a check presentation following the premiere screening of “The Next Black Millionaires” docuseries at the SheaMoisture “A Great Day in Harlem” ESSENCE Festival pop-up in New Orleans.

“iHeartMedia has supported SheaMoisture and ’The Next Black Millionaires’ program through promotion on their platforms because they too are committed to empowering Black businesses,” Cara Sabin, CEO of SheaMoisture and Beauty & Wellbeing, Unilever North America said in a statement. “We are honored to have iHeartMedia present a check to Next Voices Foundation for $25,000 that will go to support Black entrepreneurs through intentional investment, mentoring, and other resources designed to ensure they can achieve and thrive.”

“ESSENCE Festival is a time to celebrate Black joy through music, culture, and community impact. iHeartMedia is proud to keep that momentum moving forward, even after the festival ends,” Denise L. Bennett, Vice President, iHeartMedia Strategy and Idea Lab added. "Brand partners like SheaMoisture are an example of how impactful funding Black entrepreneurs can be.”

SheaMoisture's Next Black Millionaire Program "was born from our mission of creating more millionaires in our community by helping Black-owned businesses thrive," the company shared in a statement on social media. "Because when one of us wins, we all win together [and... ] together, we can build a more beautiful and equitable future for the Black community."

“New Voices is honored to receive this generous donation from SheaMoisture and iHeartMedia to help us continue to support women of color entrepreneurs to grow their businesses,” Marie Clark, Director of Strategy, Communications and Partnerships at New Voices Foundation, said in a statement. “This corporate partnership support is essential to fueling our work of providing grants alongside learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities for our New Voices Family of entrepreneurs.”
