Drunk Drivers To Pay Child Support if They Kill A TN Parent

Convicted drunk drivers will pay child support if their actions kill a parent in Tennessee.

A bi-partisan effort unanimously passed House Bill 1834 in the state’s House and Senate. Under this bill, a person convicted of intoxicated or aggravated vehicular homicide must pay child maintenance if a victim was the parent of a young child.

House Bill 1834 now goes to the Tennessee governor and is expected to be signed into law.
