It happened in a split second: a bolt of lightning strikes a car as it drives through a storm.
Nathan and Sarah Vanderhoof and their three daughters were inside the vehicle when their Jeep was hit by lightning during a Kansas thunderstorm. The bolt left a hole in the door handle, and the car was left on its last legs.
The family says they are lucky to be alive, and that they didn’t know what was happening until it was already over.
