According to Page Six, the late DMX's fiancée Desiree Lindstrom applied recently in court to be declared DMX's "common-law wife" legally, but was rejected by a judge.

If the petition had been approved, it would have meant that Lindstrom would have been given immediate seniority over DMX's 14 children with regards to potentially controlling his estate and any future earnings from his music.

Lindstrom and DMX had been engaged since 2019, and she is the mother of DMX's five-year-old son, Exodus.

His three adult sons from his marriage to Tashera SimmonsXavier, 28, Tacoma, 21, and Sean, 19 — are petitioning to be administrators. DMX also has two adult daughters — Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden — who are also filing to be administrators.

At the time of his death, DMX left no will and few liquidated assets.
