Lil West is fresh off of the release of his latest project “Final Home”. While it’s been 2 years since we got a proper project from the Delaware native, this time around he’s doing something a bit different as he transitions from the old him to the new and improved Lil West. Sitting down with On The Radar the young rapper spoke about the project, his evolution from the SoundCloud era, coming up with 100 Gecs & Night Lovell + more!
With the project, West is aiming to show people that he is no longer the old him that they have known. With growing up comes change and his new music is a reflection of everything he has gone through since his last outing whether it be in relationships, making the move to LA and of course switching up his sound to try new things.
“I think so like if you look at the cover, it's like me holding myself, dangling the old me and presenting the new me and showing there's no more of the new me, im dropping the old me. But when you dropping new music and doing some new things people say you should go back to this and this. This is the new me, this is me presenting the new me and everything that’s coming with it”
While the industry has one foot in and one foot out of the door in terms of the Soundcloud Era, Lil West has proven that he has clearly evolved since his early days on the platform. When asked about how he's grown from it personally he expressed that he’s just trying to get better and work towards his goals every day.
“Just evolving, it's just me evolving every day and all the time, trying to get better, and all that”
