Y Chibi On "Pain-Tence" Album, Upcoming “No Co-Sign” Project + More!

Y Chibi is currently one of the hardest-working young artists coming out of Dallas Texas right now. The former young soccer star turned artist has been through quite a bit in his 17 years but he hasn’t let that stop him from achieving his goals. Sitting down with On The Radar today we got to speak with Chibi about how he got to this point in life as well as his “Pain-Tence” project which served as his entrance into the game.

Chibi credits his Uncle as being the one to really set him straight after a tough time in his life. Thankfully his uncle threw him right in the studio and the rest was history, Chibi went right to work crafting his sound and creating his first body of work “Pain-Tence”. The young rapper was really trying to show people with this album his versatility as an artist and how he could do the pain music. The album also served as a way for him to really get all his pain over the things he’s experienced out.

"I wanted them to for real it was me finding my sound but I always knew I have a whole lot of spin on me that I want to express a whole lot of things on my shoulder I want to let go, that’s when I really started to find my sound I started with the pain and melodic music and that’s when I started making other types of music but I want them to hear with the Pain-Tence ep that I can do the pain music but this is also an introduction to my life”

Now that Chibi has put much behind him he’s currently gearing up to step into the next chapter of his career. “No-Cosign” which is set to be the next project from the young superstar is going to tap into a whole different side of the rapper. Carefully crafting his own unique sound he expresses that once the people hear it they’re gonna know it belongs to him as well as know what he can do as an artist.

“I’m versatile with it and I want them to hear what I can do by myself I want them to be like this is my sound when I come in the game. They gone know who’s time it is that for real I’m trying to let them know. No Co-sign we gone show them what we doing right by ourselves and when they see how we pop out I want them to know this is me stepping it up a notch”
