Stonebwoy On “Blessings” W/ Vic Mensa, Friendship with Davido, New Project

Joining On The Radar all the way from Ghana we had the pleasure of getting to sit down with none other than Stonebwoy himself! The artist who just recently celebrated the 1 year anniversary of his HUGE album “Anloga Junction” is already gearing up to have a huge Summer with new records like “Blessings” with Vic Mensa and “Critical” with Zlatan ringing off in the streets!

On the show the artist spoke about his new singles, getting Keri Hilson to come out of a 10-year hiatus to appear on his album, working with Davido, and getting to meet some of his reggae/dancehall idols Buju Banton & Sean Paul

While the world was at the height of the global COVID-19 pandemic Stonebwoy came through with a masterpiece body of work in “Anloga Junction”. Showing off his own diversity and ability to blend different genres while staying true to himself seamlessly he expressed that he felt with the world in its current state it was only right for him to drop the album in a time when people needed it.

“When you take the strength and hope I was right in the minds and hearts o people at the time and im really happy of what the album did and it was refreshing and another thing I should add was Keri Hilson blew the world by actually supporting the promotion for the album right from the start, but I need to say that on this recording, big respect to Kerri and everyone else on the album we’re legends now it’s my biggest body of work yet”

One of the biggest records he released last year was a smash hit with fellow African artist Davido. While the two have known each other for a very long time Stonebwoy revealed to us that the first time they met was when they linked up to do the record.

“We’ve known each other from time but we never got to meet each other, we’ve been speaking back and forth for 6 years. But it was on that project that we connected and met met and you’d be surprised if that was the first time we met in person last year to work on “Activate”

Stonebwoy has a deep and personal love for Reggae music and one of the artists he looked up to his whole life was none other than legend Buju Banton. Not long ago the two were finally able to meet and Stonebwoy expressed to us how incredible it was to finally get to meet Buju and even teased that they had worked on some music together.

“That was like some educational type of conversation, he had a lot to share, he has also been a frequent person visiting Ghana and I believe from time when he comes and goes as artists we always look out for opportunities and its been all the way from that time that I had been lurking to find him but it wasn’t until I went to Jamaica and I tried to reach him and he opened up his gates."
