Being inebriated can sometimes bring out a person's philosophical and inquisitive side. In that case, most people can turn to their friends or Google to satiate their curiosity, but according to WCIV, one person in South Carolina took it a step further and decided to reach out to a local aquarium.
The South Carolina Aquarium has a unique way for curious minds to learn more about marine life. The "Ask an Aquarium Educator" phone number allows people seeking knowledge to reach out to qualified individuals to help answer their questions. One person took advantage of the number earlier this week, albeit after a few drinks.
The thoughtful texter began with a series of questions about what the area would have looked like 10,000 years ago before it was settled by humans and ended with a desire to know why they can only eat oysters in months with the letter "R."
The aquarium shared screenshots of the text exchange on Monday (May 24).
Not to leave any question unanswered, the aquarium responded to the late-night questions the following morning. A few hours later, the texter thanked the experts for their help.
"My wife should be happy I drunk text aquariums and not other women," the person wrote, seemingly recovered from their busy night of marine curiosity.
Fortunately, the aquarium took the entire situation in stride and thanked the anonymous texter for "all of your fun questions" and said their wife is "a turtle-y lucky lady."
