Legendary comedian Paul Mooney passed away at 79 years old early this morning. The star who was known for his work in "The Buddy Holly Story", & "The Chapelle Show" passed away after suffering from a heart attack in his Oakland, California home as reported by journalist Roland Martin.
"BREAKING NEWS: Comedic legend Paul Mooney has passed away. His cousin, Rudy Ealy, just called me from Paul's phone and said he passed away two hours ago after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oakland. He was 79." - Martin posted on Twitter early this morning.
Mooney's Twitter account also seemingly confirmed that the actor has passed with a short statement
"Thank you all from the bottom of all of our hearts ...you’re all are the best!...... Mooney World .. The Godfather of Comedy - ONE MOON MANY STARS! .. To all in love with this great man.. many thanks"
Another legend gone too soon, RIP.
