Kato On The Track On Tik Tok Success, Upcoming Album, Advice To Producers

Today on On The Radar we had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the hottest producers out right now Kato On The Track. The producer who has become a viral success on Tik Tok has also found himself with a hit record on the app as well with “So Pretty” by Reyanna Maria & Tyga. While not a newcomer to the game Kato is using his new platform to highlight dope up-and-coming artists as well as gearing up for a huge Summer with the upcoming release of his album “Overnight Success Story”.

Aside from his own personal album on the way this year Kato will also be featured production wise on Snoop Dogg, E-40, Too Short, and Ice Cube’s "Mt. Westmore" album, which he expresses was a huge moment for him as he is a huge fan of E40.

“I got a couple of records on there but I got to shout out E40, he reached out to me months ago and was like yo I really like what you're doing, im working on this project with snoop, ice cube, and too short so I just started sending heat, I sent him multiple packs and we ended up having a couple of records on the project”

Recently the super-producer linked up with Red Bull for their "Red Bull Mystery Pack" episode where they hooked him up with a bunch of sounds that he had to make a hit record out of.

It was amazing I loved working with Redbull I was a little intimidated at first, I flew out to LA, during the middle of the pandemic, but I really wanted to work with Redbull on this but we made it happen. Walking up I thought It was going to be some little studio we’re working in, it ended up being this entire soundstage warehouse, it must have been 15,000 square feet and there was a crew of 20-30 people there but they were super good with covid compliance.

Before signing off with us we asked Kato to share some advice he would give to upcoming producers who are looking to get their start in the game and his main point he wanted them to know, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable”

“Get comfortable with being uncomfortable in kind of every way both creatively, and I know a lot of producers are introverts like I am, there’s nothing more I will rather be doing than being at home by myself making music, but if I were to do that for my career it probably wouldn’t have worked out, you have to get out you have to get uncomfortable with meeting new people and putting yourself in situations where you have an opportunity to network and meet people”
