After dropping off his latest single to light up the city today we got to sit down with Brooklyn rapper Bizzy Banks where he announced his new tape “Same Energy”, spoke about the new single, his friendship with Pop Smoke, Stunna Gambino and the situations surrounding CJ that popped up online over the past month.
Sitting down with us at Invite Only Studios in NYC the rapper revealed that his new project “Same Energy” will be dropping sometime before the Summer. With the success of “GMTO Vol. 1 (Get Money Take Over)” during the pandemic where it charted on Billboard the rapper wanted to create a strong follow up project that shows off his growth as well as of course keeping the same energy he’s been on since that project. Much of that decision is also why he didn’t release a VOL 2 to the project citing that when he does eventually release it he wants to make sure he’s at a different point in his career to where he can come with different energy for it.
“No release date, but summertime. Im in this same mode, I don’t feel like I’m in a mode for Vol 2 yet of GMTO, I feel like im still in talk my s—t mode, like im able to talk my s—t from GMTO vol 1 so I ain't want to go straight to Vol 2 and I feel like for my first tape it was a classic to me, I feel like I did very good and I want part 2 go even crazier like when I level up that’s when ill go to part 2”
When it comes to what the project will serve as, Bizzy explained that it's going to be a mixtape with roughly about the same amount of songs as the first project and will feature the likes of Leeky G Bando, PNB Rock + more TBD.
“Its going to be a mixtape, probably be the same amount of songs, I feel like my songs are a little longer this time, on the first tape I was doing 1 verse on this tape im doing 2 verse on the records, it’s a little longer, the same amount of songs, I got Leeky G Bando on it, regular stuff.
