Kuttem Reese On “Kutt Dat Boy”, Working With Lil Durk Chief Keef + More!

If you haven't been paying attention to the new movement of rappers coming out of Florida over the past year, you need to. With the likes of Kuttem Reese, Bobby Fishscale, Rod Wave, and Hotboii just to name a few there is a new generation of talent coming out of the state.

With the release of his new project “Kutt Dat Boy” we had the pleasure of sitting down with Orlando, Florida native Kuttem Reese to speak about the project, some major cosigns he’s received from the likes of Rod Wave, getting to work with Lil Durk and of course one of his idols Chief Keef.

Only rapping for around a year Kuttem has been steadily building his fan base, with such sudden fame the rapper has quickly found his sound and established himself as one of the young stars in 2021, even being nominated for the 10th spot on the XXL Freshman cover. When it came to the beginnings of his career he explained that he didn’t originally like his own voice but one day found that he was gaining a lot of fans and decided to give rapping another shot because it was what he’s meant to do.

“one day I just woke up and I saw everyone listening to my music, at first I didn’t like my voice but when I notice everybody else started liking it I was like oh ima take this serious when I saw the numbers kept going up on Instagram and stuff I was like yea ima do this, this is what I was meant to do”

One of the many surprises the rapper has on the project is a feature from the one and only Chief Keef, explaining how big of a moment this is for him, Kuttem explained how Keef is one of his biggest musical influences and being able to do a record with him was a crazy experience.

“When I was coming up Chief Keef was one of the role models for this generation of rappers, as I was going up I was like I want to get Chief Keef on something that would be hard, my people having the connect they had it already like it played out, the connects were like my boy tryna do something, we recently just did the video with him, he a cool dude it's just crazy I don’t know how to explain it how everything's moving so quickly, I’ve only been rapping a year and now I’m doing songs with Chief Keef”
