The last time we got to sit down with singer, songwriter and producer Gwen Bunn in was October of 2018. Since then a lot has happened in Gwen's life, she is now partnered up with Island Records, has a new album "Mood Swings" coming very very soon, and of course, has a new smash record out with Faith Evans called "Between The Lines". Making her return to On The Radar we spoke with Gwen about all these things as well as her appearance on Lecrae's album, other producing work she's doing + more!
When it comes to Faith Evans she just doesn’t get on a song with anyone. As Gwen’s new collab with the singer continues to get airplay across the country the history of the song she explains all started when she first got with her A&R who had the play tucked in the stash for the right record.
“She doesn’t get on many records so shout out to Faith for that, she’s one of those people if she feeling it and rocking with it she gone get on it. shout out to Jeremih my A&R he was the connection for that he had known faith for years they had a rapport before that. When I connected with him initially he already had that planted that in his head when I had played the record, he was like I know if we move forward I’m going to get faith on it”
It’s been 4 years since Gwen dropped her “Safe Travels” project. With her new project and 1st under Island Records on the way, she says there’s a ton to expect coming from it, with the album dropping in the new few months or so.
“so Mood Swings is completed I just wrapped it up, turned it in, now I’m just kinda free-flowing right now as of timeline, Ima get back to yall on that on a firm date but it's definitely coming in the next couple of months, some videos dropping before that, special pieces for yall to have before the project comes out but ya definitely coming out in the next couple of months.”
