ZayTheGOAT On “10 For 10” Tape, Announces New Album, Being A Dad

Today on On The Radar we had North Carolina rapper ZayTheGOAT on the show who is fresh off of releasing his “10 For 10” freestyle project. Speaking with us a bit about what he has going on he revealed the upcoming name of his album, how being a dad changed him, his upcoming collab with Stunna 4 Vegas + more!

Back in 2020 Zay dropped off his “Why Not Now” EP featuring the likes of LittleJohn4k and Young Sunny Boy”. The project which was dropped as a precursor to his upcoming album was well received by fans but there was one thing they were missing, his freestyles. So to begin the new year Zay dropped off his “10 For 10” project which served as 10 freestyles that he recorded over 10 days on Instagram turning it into a whole tape.

“I had stopped doing freestyles for a minute after dropping “Why Not Now”, why you stop, do some more, so I did 10 days straight of freestyles on Instagram. After seeing the response and how everybody was rocking with it I turned it into a project"

As for his new album, Zay revealed to us that the title will be “I Don’t Look Like What “I’ve Been Through”, comparing it to the title length of Roddy Ricch’s debut album Zay’s goal is to put out a body of work people can vibe with but also connect with on a deeper level.

“Me and stunna probably going to do something and shoot a video to what we doing. I want to give people a project, I’m going to tell you and you the only person Im telling, and the name of the album is I Don’t Look Like What I've Been Through”. It’s a whole sentence, It kinda like how Roddy Ricch’s album was called “Please Excuse Me For Being Anti-Social” like it explains him and his music and that’s what made people like them, there’s a lot of songs that can correlate with them and that’s why with this it's like if you don’t look like what you been through you’re going to love this project”
