Bam Bino On Who Started The NYC Drill Movement

Today on On The Radar we had Brooklyn drill rapper Bam Bino on the show to talk about his new single “We Back”, who really started drill music, showing love to Bobby Shmurda & Rowdy Rebel for putting young New York music on the map + more!

The conversation in the city lately has turned to the question, “who started the drill movement”. When it comes to Bam Bino who says he has been doing drill since 2015 along with the likes of other notable names from the city, he claims he is one of the originators of the movement.

“Im saying this right now since Bobby & Rowdy don’t claim Brooklyn drill, I feel like that was drill. I feel like that was drill, but as far as them im talking about the wave, when Bobby and Rowdy got booked there was no drill, the labels didn’t believe in drill, when me Curly Sav, Money Millz & Dah Dah we had made Gang Gang Gang, it went so crazy but I feel like they weren’t trying to give us a chance because of everything that has happened with Bobby & Rowdy”

Bam also made sure to show love to Rowdy Rebel and Bobby Shmurda during our Interview as he looks as them as the leaders of the young New York music movement and are the ones who really took it and made it worldwide.

“Free Bobby, Free Rowdy, them boys they put New York music we not going to say drill they put young New York music on the map, who young was doing it like them?”
