BIA On New Project “For Certain”, Lil Jon Collab, Possible Spanglish Album

After releasing her first project under Epic Records, we got to speak with rapper Bia about the new project “For Certain”, getting Lil Jon on the opening record, possibilities of doing a Spanish album + more! Bia’s new project “For Certain” serves as her much-anticipated debut with Epic Records. The artist has been through a lot to get to this point and releasing the project into the world is a relief for her and a blessing.

“I feel so many different emotions but really I just feel grateful just for the opportunity to put out music, be with a label that supports me, those are things that I don’t take for granted at all, I’m just happy to be here, I’m just enjoying the right and going to keep working to see what the next thing is going to be”

Bia also enlisted Lil Jon for the first record on the project properly titled "Bia Bia", not only serving as a strong intro to her album but an homage to Jon's and the East Side Boyz 2000 record "Bia Bia".

“Of course my name is Bia, everybody has always been like do you know Lil Jon, I always wanted to meet him. One random day I noticed he was following, so I followed him back and was like yo you're following me? ! I love you you’re a legend; like this is crazy, I just paid dues and he was like I got a song for you. So he had sent me a long way before I had cut “Bia Bia”.After we had met Jon & partied with Jon before corona, it was like a match made in heaven we called Jon and he said he F—ked with it and the rest was history”

With her new project, Bia wanted to avoid overthinking while making it, carefully selecting the tracks for the project she expressed to us that she has no Yes men around her and whatever felt right to her made the 8 track outing, also citing that if the record sounded good she would add it to the project “It just felt like a marriage”.

While appearing on Spanish records in the past such as her J Balvin’s “Safari” we asked her if doing a full project in Spanish is something that she would be open to doing, while she says that would be cool Bia expressed doing a Spanglish project would be more in line with the music she’s doing.

"I think doing a Spanglish album, would feel right. me doing a full front to back Spanish album wouldn't feel like me, I'm not saying it's not possible, I just feel like a body of work that has Spanish all through it with a little bit of rap and singing in Spanish, I would definitely do that"
