New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was re-elected for her second term in the US House Of Representatives. Defeating her Republican counterpart John Cummings taking a 40% lead when two thirds of the votes were counted in her congressional district that includes parts of the Bronx and Queens.
Back in 2018 she made history as the youngest woman to be elected to Congress in the history of the country at only 28 years old.
Taking to Twitter last night she assured her followers that she will continue to fight for working class families:
"Serving NY-14 and fighting for working class families in Congress has been the greatest honor, privilege, & responsibility of my life. Thank you to the Bronx & Queens for re-electing me to the House despite the millions spent against us, & trusting me to represent you once more."
