NJ Men Arrested For Shooting Fireworks Into Apartment Windows

The Hoboken authorities are not playing!

Last night, Hoboken Police Department Detectives arrested and processed two men from the city of Hoboken, ages 19 and 20, for shooting high powered fireworks from the ground into apartment windows in the Hoboken Housing Authority Area.

Police Chief Ken Ferrante says they received arson, weapons and fireworks charges and a press release will follow later today.

When it comes to the fireworks problem NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he has put in a task force in place to deal with illegal fireworks exploding around New York City. There have been thousands of complaints already this month in NYC, compared with just about two dozen in June of 2019.

Mayor de Blasio:

"We're going to start a huge sting operation to go and get these illegal fireworks at the base. This is a real problem. It is not just a quality of life problem and a noise problem - and it's certainly that - and it's all five boroughs and we take that seriously, but it can also be dangerous."
