Bieber And Ariana Take On 6ix9ine Over Claims They Bought #1 Spot

After Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s collaboration, Stuck With U, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, rapper 6ix9ine accused the pair of manipulating the charts by purchasing 30,000 units last minute to make sure his track 'Gooba' didn't get that #1 spot.

In the video, 6ix9ine accuses Ariana and Justin's camp of buying 30,000 units at the last minute. "They bought 30,000 units with six credit cards," he said, adding: "Six credits cards. Now, again, you're gonna enjoy your #1. Explain how you buy 30,000 with six credit cards?"

Ariana and Justing are not both denying the accusations in separate statements and credit the song’s success solely to their fans. Scooter Braun also jumped in with his own two cents.

Bieber:

"He said that 30K was bought with 6 credit cards but that is a lie. The rules are clear one credit card can buy max 4 copies. Anything over that the entire amount gets thrown out. Nielsen company checks this and found all our sales were legit because our fans are amazing and bought them. Don't discredit our fan base with false info."

In the interest of transparency, Billboard wanted to clear up the Hot 100's chart rules and tabulation process and wrote up an entire article breaking down the facts.

Billboard:

"Overall, “Stuck With U” drew 28.1 million U.S. streams, 26.3 million in radio airplay audience and 108,000 sold in the tracking week. “Gooba” had 55.3 million U.S. streams, 172,000 in radio airplay audience and 24,000 sold."
