After having a breakout year in 2019 appearing on the Grammy nominated "Revenge Of The Dreamers 3", and releasing his hit song "Side N---a Anthem", Atlanta native Deante' Hitchock's debut album "Better" under RCA is here! The album which has already generated a ton of buzz with the first single off the project "How TF" releasing a little over a month ago featuring none other than fellow ATL artist 6lack.
As most artists didn't plan to be promoting and working on their new releases from home, Deante' shared that it's been a weird experience for him and that he is thinking about dropping another project during the time at home since he has so much music in the vault.
"Hell nah this s--t weird as fuck Im not even going to lie to you, all this shit weird, half the shit we had planned we cant do, touring and all of that is dead so we cant actually go out and touch people with the music but we kinda treating it like the wild wild west right now"
The album itself also sees the artist coming out of his shell with his FIRST ever twerk anthem in "Gimmie Yo Money". The song which features City Girl's like adlibs is a favorite of his and just last night he proclaimed that The City Girls and Megan Thee Stallion need to be on the remix. Tweeting out the other day "I want Meg and The City Girls on that bit fr. I’m tryna make it happen", he spoke a little bit about the City Girls like adlibs on the record and while he couldn't get them for the original song itself, he's manifesting that they hop one the remix for the culture!
"bro, that was the track I was the most interested in seeing the reception for, cuz like for me that was like the furthest thing from anything I done did as far as my discography goes, thats a twerk anthem I ain't done no s--t like that, I wrote the whole song and did the whole thing in its entirety, but its my homegirl blaire doing the adlibs on there"
Aside from the twerk anthem "Better" also has a few records that show Deante's growth as an artist and a person, one of those being his Miguel & ST. Beauty assisted "Flashbacks", that record in-particular was important to the artist because he raps about questioning his faith and the beliefs that were passed down to him by his parents. While sharing stories about the record he also revealed that when he told his mother about all the Miguel feature she dropped everything she was doing freaking out about the song, which was a proud moment for him.
Deante also spoke about his time working on "Revenge Of The Dreamers 3" in which he is on the record PTSD alongside Omen, Mereba, & St. Beauty. Sharing some stories on the album he revealed he recorded around 16 verses for the project and says that there are probably 100 + songs out there from the ROD sessions that have never seen the light of day.
