Mom Tackled By Several NYPD Officers Over Face Mask

A New York City mother was placed in handcuffs after an altercation with NYPD and MTA inside a Brooklyn, New York subway station over not fully wearing her mask. In the video we see her being surrounded by approximately six officers and is eventually taken down by FOUR men and put in handcuffs as her child watched in horror this forever scarring moment.

At first police said that woman wouldn’t listen, but she wasn’t arrested or charged, rather taken out of station. After this video went viral, the NYPD now say the woman was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Sources tell NY1 that she explained that she was having a bad day. While some may argue that woman should have remained calm or put her mask on correctly, police should realize ASAP they also have to handle many of these mask/face covering and social distancing situations better and without violence.

Social Justice Activist, Shaun King, shared the video on his Instagram page early Thursday morning and noted that the NYPD: "aren't doing this sh*t in the Upper East Side. You aren't doing it with ANY white folk, period." Before going on to blame Mayor Bill de Blasio for the racial tension in our city between police and citizens over COVID-19 regulations/guidelines.

Do you think police should be in charge of monitoring citizens' face coverings?
