Former President Barack Obama joined several surprise teachers in a video chat to thank them during Teacher Appreciation Week as educators across the country adjust to teaching their students with remote learning due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video posted to Twitter from the former president’s official account, Obama praised three teachers and listened to their stories and the unusual challenges they’re facing now.
Obama:
There’s no limit to the devotion I’ve seen in teachers like these @ChiPubSchools educators. Their dedication shapes the best parts of who we become. I couldn’t be more thankful for their work, especially as they shift lessons online to keep students on track during this crisis.
This was really nice of President Obama 🙏🏾📚🇺🇸
