Many giants in the music industry have already began working to help get out masks to people who need them whether their your everyday citizen, medical worker etc. Future & DJ Khaled have already used their foundations to team up with other non profits to help get thousands of masks out to those who need it and now Jay-Z's & Meek Mill's Reform Alliance will be doing their part to aid prisoners during this troubling time. This morning the Reform alliance announced that they will be joining forces with Shaka Senghor to sending 100,000 masks to various prisons where the virus is present.
In a post to Reforms Instagram they broke down where most of the masks for now are going most them being sent to Rikers island since their is a HUGE outbreak in the prison:
Thanks to leadership from our friend @shakasenghor, we were able to rush 50,000 masks into Rikers Island (where there are nearly 500 confirmed cases of #COVID19 among incarcerated people and staff), 40,000 masks to the Tennessee DOC, and 5,000 masks to Parchman Prison in Mississippi. As important as it is to surge medical supplies in, it’s MORE important to GET PEOPLE OUT. Please, help us by calling your Governor and signing our petition at the link in our bio. #NoPrisonPandemic
