Wendy Williams is under fire for appearing to joke about the death of Drew Carey’s ex-fiancée Amie Harwick, who plummeted from a third-floor balcony to her death in Hollywood Hills early Saturday.
While Wendy, 55, recounted the incident during the “Hot Topics” segment of her talk show Monday she said: “She was killed — not by Drew — but by the ex. Come on down!” she added, using the signature phrase from “The Price Is Right” as she looked up and then down, in an apparent reference to Harwick’s fall.
The audience was left shocked and fell nearly silent.
“I KNOW #WendyWilliams did NOT just make a ‘come on down’ joke about Drew Carey’s ex-fiancee getting killed by being thrown off of a third floor balcony!!!!” Twitter user @AuntKimmie_GG wrote. “Somebody tell me I heard that wrong, please..but the audience is stone-cold quiet.”
