Oscar nominated Ava Duvernay's documentary about the late great Nipsey Hussle has found a home at Netflix! The streaming giant just acquired the rights to the film after a huge bidding war took place for it. Netflix is already home to many critically acclaimed projects from the female director such as "13th" & "When They See Us", which because of her work on these series according to Deadline, is exactly the reason why Nip's estate reached out to Ava to make this documentary come to life!
In a post by Nipsey Hussle's sister she shares some details about the production of the film:
"Nipsey's Company Marathon Films will present his feature film documetnary executive produced by RocNation and his two children Emani and Kross Asghedom. No Final deal has beeninked we are currently in neogtiaitions with Netflix for this project with Ava Duvernay and her company Array to co-produce. This documentary is very important to the family and will not be fast tracked by monetary gain and/orcommercial interest."
