On Sunday (Jan. 26), the legendary basketball player and entrepreneur Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash including his 13-year old daughter Gianna and 3 other people in his private helicopter, TMZ reported.
In spite of the heartbreaking news, Kobe has given us a 20-year long career which started straight out of high school — Bryant has many highlighted achievements and accomplishments that made him the official goat of the NBA. Before hanging up his purple and gold Lakers jersey, Bryant's legacy involves a long list of championship wins. Check out some of his career highlights below:
- Kobe Bryant has led Los Angeles Lakers to win five NBA championships: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010
- Bryant ranked No. 3 on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
- He broke the NBA record of First-Team Selection 11 times and NBA's all-defensive first team nine times.
- He won TWO Olympic gold medals - "He led the American team to win all their 996 games from 2007 to 2012."
- He earned four All-star game MVP's in 2002, 2007, 2009 and in 2011.
- He scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in January 2006.
- Most seasons played: 20
