Yams Day 2020:A$AP Mob + Friends Perform to Celebrate the Life of A$AP Yams

Yams Day 2020

Hip-Hop will forever pay tribute to their lost ones. The A$AP Mob has continued Yams Day in celebration of the life of Steven "A$AP Yams" Rodriguez. Their concert to honor him has expanded yearly as they perform and bring out new surprise guests and unexpected artists that turnout to top the year before, as they mentioned on The Breakfast Club.

Last Night (Jan. 17) marked a day before the fifth year anniversary of the death of A$AP Yams, which occurred from an accidental overdose. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit and energy was brought out through the members performance in remembrance of their late brother.

Yams Day has become a tradition to showcase new artists, and new sounds that Yams had co-signed or would've supported if he were still with us. This year, there were a range of artists who performed including 2Chainz, Jim Jones, Pi'erre Bourne, Nav, Smooky MarGielaa, Metro Boomin, Lil Yachty, Tyler The Creator, Smoove L, G4 Boyz, Young M.A, Sheck Wes, Casanova and more.

Earlier in the day it was reported that Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke had been hit with a federal charge. As the concert took place in his hometown fans were definitely upset to know he would not be taking the stage. However, despite news of the recent social media beef between Pop Smoke and Casanova, the other Brooklyn native had the crowd shout "Free Pop Smoke" in support.

While fans were happy to see most of their favorite artists hit the stage, many were even more excited to see Drake and Rihanna in the crowd. Both celebs took pictures with A$AP Yams mother who put together a foundation after the loss of her son to help promote the importance of drug prevention. It was also posted on Instagram that Drake gifted A$AP Rocky with a custom Yams chain showing his respect.
