SZA is coming!

The R&B songbird confirmed the news early Friday morning (January 3) during a Q&A with fans on Twitter. During the session, one fan politely pressed the singer for details about her plans to drop new material in 2020.

“Are we getting anything this year ma’am i’m STARVING,” the user tweeted, to which the “The Weekend” musician answered: “I’d say the date me and punch jus discussed .. but that would stress me n build uneccesary [sic] pressure .. short answer is yes.” What's more, SZA also divulged a collaboration with Sam Smith is “already done.”

SZA’s last full-length album, 2017’s Ctrl, helped earn the songstress five nominations at the 2018 Grammy Awards, where she shockingly walked away empty-handed. The same disappointment came in 2019 despite the success of her Kendrick Lamar team-up “All the Stars” for the Black Panther film, which garnered four nominations yet reaped not a single Grammy.

Even so, fans have still been enthused about their queen’s follow-up projects, which she’s been teasing since the fall of 2019. In August, she hinted at a potential Justin Timberlake collab for her sophomore effort. (JT confirmed the collab just months later.)

"Before I was like, ‘What the f**k am I doing in the studio with Justin Timberlake right now? This is crazy,'” she recalled at the time. "But when I heard his music and we started singing together… It’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language. The same frequency.’ Our ears speak the same language. I understood where he was going before he could finish a run."
