ESPN Reporter Dies Suddenly After Fight With Pneumonia

RIP 🙏🏾

Ed Aschoff died on his 34th birthday after sharing that what had started as a virus had turned into bilateral pneumonia, striking both lungs.

Earlier this month, Ed's health landed him in the emergency room and admittance to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with multifocal pneumonia, a more progressed, widespread lung infection. Doctors prescribed antibiotic treatment that didn’t reverse the reporter’s worsening symptoms,

His Fiancee says that after several medical tests, Ed found out he had HLH, or hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a rare condition that causes the immune system to harm itself.

Within three days of being sent to the intensive care unit, Ed died.
