Rihanna's Lawsuit Against Father Exploiting "Fenty" May Happen In Private

Rihanna doesn't want her lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty to get messy in court.

The superstar has reached out to her father to resolve their legal issues and let him know that she was available for mediation in March 2020 but he's yet to respond. The issues stem from a lawsuit filed by Rihanna against her father and his company, Fenty Entertainment, at the beginning of 2019. The female singer accused her father of exploiting her name to expand his business ventures and claims she was the one who built the Fenty empire with her makeup line, lingerie, and clothing brands.

Mr. Fenty responded by saying he was the first to use the family name "Fenty" and that Rihanna launched her Fenty Beauty brand a year later. He says he tried to trademark the name in 2018 but was denied by the U.S Patent & Trademark Office. Now, Rihanna is trying to resolve the case privately to avoid going to trial. No matter what, Rihanna and her father seem to be on good terms as they were spotted embracing in their home country of Barbados. Many are hoping the picture means their legal problems will be resolved in private with little to no drama.
