Father Arrested After his 5-Year-Old son Brings Cocaine to School

Benny Garcia, 29, was arrested after his 5-year-old son brought a bag of what is suspected to be cocaine or heroin to Lawrence Elementary School in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The kindergarten student told his teacher that when he eats or tastes the powder, it makes him feel like "Spider-Man."

The teacher instantly notified the school's principal and local police were immediately informed. That same day authorities searched Garcia's apartment and found 38 baggies of what is believed to be cocaine, in addition to 170 bags of heroin, some of which were stamped with the Spider-Man logo, similar to the packet that his child brought to school.

The boy was taken to a local hospital and later released. Consequently another infant that lives in the home, and the 5-year-old boy were taken into child services.

Benny Garcia pleaded not guilty to charges of drug possession and reckless endangerment of a child. He will be held without bail until his hearing scheduled for November 20th.
