NYC's First Snow Of Season Could Arrive Tuesday

US-WEATHER-SNOW

New Yorkers could be dealing with snow as early as Tuesday.

Following expected highs near 60 degrees for Veterans Day festivities Monday, temperatures will fall in the evening and create conditions for snow flurries by Tuesday.

Early morning showers Tuesday could turn into flurries by the early afternoon, NBC New York's Storm Team 4 reports.

Points north and west of the city and higher elevations could see real accumulation — between 1 and 3 inches — on account of lower temperatures. Tuesday's wintry mix isn't likely to stick, but if temperatures get low enough, some slush could remain.

Precipitation should move out of the area by late-Tuesday, just in time for a blast of arctic air.

Wednesday could bring record cold and icy winds back to the region with a low of 23 and a high of just 33.

Thursday will bring a reprieve from the frigid air with temperatures back up near 40.
